内容提要：
One interesting observation is that outward FDI from developing countries has
been dramatically increasing together with export sophistication measured by $EXPY$, an index developed by Hausmann et al. (2007). We also witness that developing countries` FDI flows into developed countries, aiming at acquiring technology, brands, and sales network, stimulates more and more innovation in parent companies, and increases the export competitiveness of developing countries. We hypothesize that outward FDI in developing countries can lead to ``better" exports. Using panel data of developing countries from 1990 to 2010, we find strong evidence that outward FDI from developing countries is significantly associated with "better" exports.
