James J. Heckman，芝加哥大学“亨利·舒尔茨杰出服务”教授，人类发展经济学研究中心（Center for the Economics of Human Development）主任，人力资本与经济机会国际工作组（Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Global Working Group, HCEO）联合主席。Heckman教授因对微观计量经济学的杰出贡献荣获2000年诺贝尔经济学奖，他获得的其他主要荣誉还包括美国经济学会约翰·贝茨·克拉克奖章（1983年），劳动经济学会雅克布·明瑟终生成就奖（2005年），美国农业经济学会西奥多·舒尔茨奖（2007年），计量经济学会弗里希奖章（2014年），计量经济学会会士（1980年），美国人文与科学学会会士（1985年），美国统计学会会士（2001年），劳动经济学会会士（2004年），美国经济学会杰出会士（2017年）等。Heckman教授1965年在科罗拉多学院获得数学学士学位，1968年、1971年在普林斯顿大学分别获得经济学硕士学位与博士学位，自1973年起在芝加哥大学经济系任教。Heckman教授目前担任经济学顶级期刊Journal of Political Economy共同主编，发表论文300余篇，出版学术专著9本。
James J. Heckman, the Henry Schultz Distinguished Service Professor in Economics and the College, director of the Center for the Economics of Human Development, co-director of Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Global Working Group. In 2000, Heckman shared the Nobel Prize in Economics for his work on the microeconometrics of diversity and heterogeneity and for establishing a sound causal basis for public policy evaluation. He has received numerous other awards for his work, including the John Bates Clark Medal of the American Economic Association in 1983, the Jacob Mincer Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2005 from the Society of Labor Economics, the 2007 Theodore W. Schultz Award from the American Agricultural Economics Association, the Frisch Medal from the Econometric Society in 2014 for the most outstanding paper in applied economics published in Econometrica in the previous five years, the Fellow of Econometric Society in 1980, the Member of American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1985, the Fellow of American Statistical Association in 2001, the Fellow of Society of Labor Economists in 2004, the Distinguished Fellow of the American Economic Association in 2017, and so on. Heckman has a BA (1965) in Mathematics from Colorado College and an MA (1968) and PhD (1971) in Economics from Princeton University. He has been at the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago since 1973. He is currently co-editor of the Journal of Political Economy. He has published over 300 articles and 9 books.
