Short Bio of Prof. Andrew Bernard
Andrew Bernard is a professor at Dartmouth College and a research associate of the US National Bureau of Economic Research. He received his Ph.D in economics from Stanford University in 1991, and was on the faculty at MIT and Yale prior to coming to Dartmouth in 1999. Professor Bernard is an expert in international trade and investment and specializes in firm responses to globalization. He is a pioneering and leading trade economist in micro-level studies of trade, which spurred the “new new trade theory” focusing on the role of firm heterogeneity in international trade. His work has been published in journals including the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, and Journal of International Economics. His research has been featured on CNN, CNBC, Good Morning America, MSNBC, BBC, and in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, the Economist, Fortune, and Business Week.
