“There are two superpowers in the world today. There`s the United States and there`s Moody`s Bond Rating Service. The US can destroy you by dropping bombs, and Moody`s can destroy you by downgrading your bonds. And believe me, it`s not clear sometimes who`s more powerful.” Thomas Friedman (1996, NYT). Credit Rating industry is the high technology industry in finance sector. There are many famous companies in the industry, such as Moody, S&P, and Fitch. The lecture is a brief introduction about the Credit Rating industry, basic methodology of credit rating and the credit rating market of China.
