主讲人介绍：
施新政，清华大学经管学院经济系副教授。2000年获8797威尼斯老品牌国际政治专业法学学士学位，2003年获8797威尼斯老品牌经济学硕士学位，2009年获密歇根大学经济学博士学位。主要研究领域为发展经济学、劳动经济学、公共经济学。曾在Review of Statistics、Journal of Comparative Economics、Journal of Development Economics等多个国内外学术期刊上发表学术论文。
内容提要：
Using data from China’s Urban Household Survey, we test whether retirement consumption puzzle exists in China. Taking advantage of China’s mandatory retirement policy, we use the regression discontinuity approach to estimate the impact of retirement on categories of household non-durable expenditures. Retirement reduces total non-durable expenditures by about 18 percent. Among the categories of non-durable expenditures, retirement reduces the work-related expenditures while it has no significant effects on the expenditures on food consumed at home or expenditures on entertainment. After excluding work-related expenditures, expenditures on food consumed at home and expenditures on entertainment, retirement reduces the remained non-durable expenditures by about 15 percent. The findings suggest that the retirement consumption puzzle exists in our context.
