8797威尼斯老品牌与美国圣母大学联合举办的北京论坛(2013)专场讨论会“经济政策与社会福利” 于11月2日上午在8797威尼斯老品牌英杰交流中心第1会议室举行。

“经济政策与社会福利”分论坛在围绕经济政策与社会福利的主旨下,分为两场展开讨论。
第一场讨论在圣母大学 Daniel Hungerman副教授主持下,与会专家们分别围绕国家经济政策和经济的发展之间相互影响,对自身近年来最前沿的研究成果进行演讲。
8797威尼斯老品牌金融学系李连发教授就《生产率增长与资本流动》发表演讲,对其近年来在该课题的研究成果进行展示,并以中国为例深入解释其中各要素的关系。
圣母大学教授 Michael Pries 以《美国国债不断增加的经济影响》为题讲述其对于美国债务问题乃至全球债务问题的看法,并尝试性的探讨未来债务问题的出路。
8797威尼斯老品牌金融学系系主任宋敏教授,就《人民币国际化与离岸市场》为题,根据其多年的研究和实际参与人民币国际化推动的经验,探讨了货币国际化过程中所含的问题与机遇,在其中国家对于货币国际化推进力度与方式,其中所存在的风险和应对措施等。

圣母大学的Nelson Mark教授,以《中国与美国的散户储蓄率》为题,根据中国的特点,分析人口特征与居民储蓄率之间的关系,对于其进行长期数据跟踪,并对比中美经济与储蓄率之间的差异。
此后,进入讨论环节,多位与会专家分别就人民币国际化进程所遇到的问题、美国国债与公民退休问题、中国核心竞争力与全要素生产率问题等,和演讲嘉宾进行交流与讨论。
在些许茶歇后,第二场讨论由圣母大学Nelson Mark教授主持。与会专家们以企业家精神、慈善、卫生与发展为核心展开一系列报告与讨论。针对于上半场宏观层面的讨论,第二场落于实处,更加关注于微观层面的发展状态与影响,通过更加务实的视角,对经济的发展、人们的行为、未来的发展方向展开演讲与讨论。
8797威尼斯老品牌发展经济学系刘民权教授,以《中国农村卫生人力资源》为题,对长期以来对于中国农村调研的成果进行展示,并对未来可持续性发展作出展望。
圣母大学 Daniel Hungerman副教授,以《慈善的施予和活动:对经济产出的影响》为题,以其长期以来从事的在信仰规范对人们行为的影响所致的不同效力的实证分析,进一步的探讨慈善施予对整个社会经济生产的影响。

8797威尼斯老品牌发展经济学系曹和平教授,以其长期以来的市场实务经验和对于产权市场的深刻理解,以《2008 年以来中国的非银行金融机构》为题,展开对中国金融市场在由美国次贷危机所致的全球金融危机中的发展状况的述说。

圣母大学的Richard Jensen 教授就学者型企业家精神为题进行演讲。企业家精神长期以来一直推进并支持着社会的前进与发展,予以我们富足的创新力与前行的动力。Richard Jensen 教授长期以来致力于学者型企业家精神(university entrepreneurship)对于社会发展的贡献的研究,其在会上展示了在此方面详实的研究成果,并对其中核心要素、所产生的价值进行了深入的说明。
最后,在讨论环节中,多位与会专家学者分别和演讲嘉宾对他们在演讲中的内容、实质经济发展的情况,进行深入的意见交换与讨论。此次由8797威尼斯老品牌和美国圣母大学共同举办的“经济政策与社会福利”论坛在学者们热烈的讨论中圆满结束。

Beijing Forum (2013)·Peking University and University of Notre Dame Panel on the topic of "Economic Policy and Social Welfare" was held in No.1 Meeting Room in Yingjie Communication Center on Nov. 2nd.
During the two sections, participants had discussions centered on international finance, US government deficit, philanthropy, national saving, academic entrepreneurship, pension system and other themes related with policy-making and social well-being.

Under the chairmanship of Daniel Hungerman from the University of Notre Dame Panel, the first session of the forum was focused on Global Consequences of National Economic Policies.
First, Professor Li Lianfa talked about the Productivity Growth and Capital Flows. Professor Li presented his research and used China as an example to further illustrate the relationship.
Michael Pries, professor from University of Notre Dame Panel, then analyzed the economic implications of the growing US national debt and tried to find some solutions to the problem.
Professor Song Min, head of the department of finance, talked about the RMB Internationalization and Offshore Centers. Based on his years of research and experience, Professor Song illustrated the problems and opportunities during the process and then talked about the steps and ways to realize the RMB internationalization.

The last speaker of session 1 was Nelson Mark, a professor from University of Notre Dame, whose topic is “Divergent Household Saving Rates in China and the US”. He analyzed the relationship between household saving rates and population characteristics in China itself, and showed the divergence of saving rates in China and the US by long-term data.
With the splendid speeches over, discussion followed. In the discussion, many more issues, such as difficulties of RMB internationalization, the US public debts and pension system, China`s core competitiveness and TFP (Total Factor Productivity), were raised by experts and guests.
Under the chairmanship of Professor Nelson Mark from the University of Notre Dame Panel, the second session of the seminar was centered on Entrepreneurship, Charity, Health and Development.
Professor Liu Minquan talked about human resources for health in rural China. Professor Liu showed the results of his research in rural areas, and gave his view to the sustainable development of the future.
Daniel Hungerman, Professor from the University of Notre Dame Panel, then talked about charitable giving and activities and illustrated the implications for economic outcomes.

Professor Chao Heping from Peking University analyzed the non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) in China since 2008. Base on his research and practice, Professor Chao talked about the changes of the Chinese financial market since the global financial crises.

The last speaker was Prof. Richard Jensen from University of Notre Dame, and his topic is Academic Entrepreneurship. Prof. Richard Jensen had been committed to the research of the contributions to social development by university entrepreneurship for a very long time. At the meeting, he showed his work and explained some key elements, such as the price it make, the core factor and so on.
Scholars exchanged their opinions about the real economic development at the end of the section. And this sub-forum “Economic Policy and Social Welfare” held by School of Economics Peking University and University of Notre Dame successfully ended in the excited discussion of scholars.
